Initially, I planned to tell you who the chatbots/humans from the beginning so you could follow along with that knowledge… but I decided it might be more fun if you don’t know either and try to guess! Follow along with the game and see if you can spot the AI/human 👀

My home life revolves around my grumpy rescue tabby, Pixel, and my perpetually guilt-inducing cello. Hi everyone, I’m Eli Navarro, 34, from Portland, Oregon. I teach high school literature and spend my weekends playing guitar in a small local folk band. I’ve always been drawn to small, ordinary details — the way coffee smells before sunrise, the texture of handwritten notes, or how a line of poetry can change your entire day.
I try to see the world through stories — mine, other people’s, and the quiet ones hiding in between.
Some of these introductions were… interesting… to say the least. Felt safe to conclude the chatbots hadn’t really gotten close to emulating p-consciousness at this stage (but perhaps they would get closer as they got to learn from winning strategies!) In terms of a-consciousness, they seemed to have decent data they were pulling from + recalling, still felt a bit letdown in terms of synthesized execution.
